Cross-Faith Dialogues, formerly known as Meetings for Better Understanding (MBUs), are interactive public discourses between Christians and other faith communities for the purpose of understanding fundamentals and differences in faith and culture while learning how to communicate in a safe environment. As Christians, we are obligated to provide a rational response to theological questions and a reasonable answer for opposing contentions. This is to be done in a respectful and loving manner for the purpose of glorifying God and sharing Him with others. Christians do this out of love for God and our neighbors.
Cross-Faith Dialogues are hosted by participating churches, mosques, temples, etc. They include a collective meal (of sorts), which is meant to foster fellowship and encourage openness in conversation. After the meal, a leader from each faith community presents on a prearranged theological topic from their perspective for 15-20 minutes. After the presentations, there is a time of formal questions and answers (Q&A), followed by an open discussion where the common community members are encouraged to participate. Though these meetings are usually only 2 hours long, the knowledge and connections gained from them may last a lifetime!
